Abstract

Postharvest loss is something that affects everyone in the world whether or not they know it. In recent years, more and more research has been devoted to finding ways to reduce and prevent postharvest loss to conserve valuable resources and aid in food security for all. However, much of the research on this topic has been conducted in reference to grain crops in Africa and Asia. It is important to not e that postharvest loss affects many other types of food products like fruits and vegetables in places other than Africa or Asia. The Caribbean is one of those places, and many practices, including improved education, need to be implemented there to truly make an impact on postharvest loss there.
